Far from the global warming temperatures that were promised for this summer, we have enjoyed a remarkably mild season. We invested in a heat pump which will warm the pool at the same time as cooling the bedrooms and kitchen but it does not look as if it is going to be necessary this year. Still it is good to know it is there for when it is wanted.

The season has been much like previous years at the Centre. But the village has excelled itself as far as entertainment is concerned: The Caffe Casolani's jazz concerts have been of a very high standard and frequent, we had a fine operatic duo in the amphitheatre and last night an acrobatic commedienne gave us great entertainment. Not to mention the night sky has been full of shooting stars.
